The 1961 Society

1961 Society Overview

Named for the year WAMU 88.5 began broadcasting from the campus of American University, the 1961 Society recognizes those individuals who have included WAMU in their estate plans by naming WAMU 88.5 as a beneficiary (revocable or irrevocable) in their will, retirement account, life insurance, charitable gift annuity, charitable trust, or similar vehicle. Individuals who include WAMU in their estate plans and make their intentions known to the station are invited to accept membership in the 1961 Society.
